Fire volunteers hold induction

By: Jomarie A. Billones ROXAS CITY – The Federation of Roxas city Fire and Rescue Volunteers, Inc. (FEROCITY) conducted its induction of officers Wednesday evening, March 6, at El Circulo Convention Hall of Pueblo de Panay here. Chief Supt. Carlito Romero, officer-in-charge of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), was the guest of honor and speaker during the activity. He was also the inducting officer of the newly formed FEROCITY headed by president Melencio Sayo. Prior to the induction of FEROCITY officers, an inauguration and blessing of its newly acquired super tanker and groundbreaking of headquarters also in Pueblo de Panay were also held. Romero lauded the effort of the FEROCITY in acquiring the super tanker truck. The firetruck could help a lot in the fire fighting activities of the group. Mayor Angel Alan Celino was also the guest of the induction ceremony. He said the new said fire equipment and headquarter are welcome development of the city. Tourist arrivals in the City are expected to increase more as more infrastructure projects are being planned built. One of these is the emerging Pueblo de Panay, an ambitious real estate project, called a "City within a City." Pueblo de Panay will host the much-anticipated Robinson's Place Roxas, the eight to be established in the whole of the Visayas by the Robinson's Land Corp. The project, which is estimated to be worth a billion pesos, is seen to contribute significantly to the city's economy and tourism
