ROXAS City — Two people died in separate incidents in the province on Tuesday.
In Maayon town, a resident of Brgy. Manayupit was shot by his drinking buddy. He died.
Twenty-four-year-old farmer Herben Beltran succumbed to several gunshot wounds on his body.
Police identified the suspect as Edwin Arciga, 48, also a farmer, of the same barangay.
A heated argument ensued between Beltran and Arciga while they were binge drinking on Tuesday, police said.
Arciga then took out a 12-gauge shotgun and shot the victim.
In Panay, an old woman died after a speeding single-type motorcycle sideswiped her.
Belen Buenavista, 72, of Brgy. Anhawon, was taken to the Capiz Emmanuel Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Municipal police identified the motorcycle’s driver as Daniel Bunda, 19, of Brgy. Bunga.
They arrested Bunda in a follow-up operation and detained him in the Panay police station.
Bunda was facing charges for reckless imprudence resulting to homicide.
