ROXAS City — Some P4.2 million had been spent for the renovation of the third floor of the President Roxas municipal hall.
First District Rep. Antonio del Rosario contributed P2 million from his Countrywide Development Fund; Gov. Victor Tanco Sr. gave P1 million, while the municipal government under Mayor Raymund Locsin shelled out P1.2 million as counterpart.
The said area of the town hall was inaugurated and blessed on November 30, also the town’s 63rd foundation anniversary.
It will house the offices of the Mayor, Municipal Administrator, Human Resource Management, Budget, Municipal Environment and Natural Resources, Licensing, Property, and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management and Council, said Municipal Engineer Ramon Burgos.
To be renovated next will be the building’s ground floor, Locsin told Panay News.
He said they are still looking for funds for the project.
President Roxas was named after President Manuel Acuña-Roxas on November 30, 1949 under Republic Act 374, which was signed into law by then President Elpidio Quirino.
It was originally the small community of Lutod-Lutod in Brgy. Aranguel in old town of Pilar.
