ROXAS City — Liberal Party (LP) candidates in this city filed their respective certificates of candidacy (COCs) for the 2013 mid-term elections after the party officially proclaimed them yesterday.

Mayor Angel Alan Celino, Vice Mayor Ronnie Dadivas and eight candidates for councilor filed their COCs before the Commission on Elections office in the Roxas City Hall.

The eight Sangguniang Panlungsod hopefuls include incumbent Councilors Erwin Sicad, Powell del Rosario, Matthew James Viterbo, Jennifer Anisco, Erlyn Lim and Julius Abela, and new recruits Dr. Cesar Yap Jr. and Katrina Almalbis-Ignacio.

Celino said two other candidates for councilor — who the party refused to identify — will file their COCs before the deadline tomorrow.

Candidates in the provincial level led by reelectionist governor Victor Tanco and Vice Gov. Esteban Evan “Nonoy” Contreras have also filed their COCs.

The candidates filed their COCs after the LP proclaimed them at the Governor’s Hall of the Capiz Provincial Capitol.

Before that, they attended a Mass at the Roxas City Metropolitan Cathedral at 8:30 a.m.

Other LP candidates who filed their COCs include reelectionist 1st District Rep. Antonio del Rosario, Sigma Mayor Mary Andaya, who is running for representative of the 2nd District.

Incumbent Sangguniang Panlalawigan members — Roberto Ignacio, Eduardo Magallanes and Blesilda Almalbis — have also filed their COCs for their reelection bid.

Other Board member hopefuls include Roxas City Councilor Emmanuel Billones Jr. and former Board member Enrique Martin.

The list of candidates for Board members in 2nd District and for mayors, vice mayors and Sangguniang Bayan members, will soon be finalized so they can file their COCs before the deadline, Tanco said.
