DUMARAO, Capiz — A kagawad in Brgy. Salcedo here was apprehended for illegal possession of firearm.
Barangay Captain Jose Hachuela and Kagawad Pidoy Herero of Brgy. Poblacion Ilaya collared Ricky Valensuela, 30, in the evening of October 22.
They then turned over the suspect to the Dumarao police who were having a preventive patrol and police visibility operation.
Recovered from Valensuela was a caliber .38 with five live ammunitions.
He failed to present pertinent documents proving the legality of the firearm.
On the same day, policemen in Cuartero arrested a person wanted for serious physical injuries.
Police led by Insp. Leomindo Tayupon collared Efraim Cerbo, 34, of Brgy. Agnaga, Cuartero.
Municipal Circuit Trial Court Judge Sebastino Baguio issued the warrant of arrest dated October 12, 2012 against Cerbo.
The suspect was detained in the Cuartero police station. He failed to post a P12,000 bail.
