ROXAS City — Authorities in this city are finding difficulty identifying the suspects in shooting to death a businessman in Brgy. Banica here on Monday.
Investigation is still ongoing, said Supt. Salvador Dagoon Jr., city police director.
Edwin Loyola, who was a chicken dealer, was shot by riding-in-tandem suspects.
He succumbed to fatal gunshot wounds on the back, Dagoon said.
Loyola was driving a tricycle — onboard were his live-in partner, Mary Jane Cordovero, and their six-year-old child — when attacked.
Cordovero and the child were unhurt, the city police chief said.
According to Cordovero, two men clad in jackets and helmets drove to their side while they were traversing the road in Brgy. Banica.
She later heard a number of gunshots and was surprised to find her live-in partner peppered with bullets.
Loyola died while he was being rushed to the hospital, police said.
