ROXAS City — Police arrested a man for alleged illegal drug pushing on Sunday evening.
Elements of the regional and provincial Special Operations Groups collared 50-year-old Aureo Amane in a buy-bust operation on Taft Street here.
Items recovered from the suspect include four sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu), a mobile phone, a motorcycle and P1,000 marked money.
Amane was a resident of Brgy. Inzo Arnaldo here. He was detained in the Roxas City police station.
The recovered substances were brought to the Capiz police’s crime laboratory.
Police records show that Amane was earlier arrested for the same violation.
In another story, a 39-year-old man from Ivisan town was arrested for possessing a firearm with an expired license.
A group of personnel of the Police Regional Office 6’s Regional Intelligence Division collared Roger Aguel alias “Bombay” of Brgy. Malocloc Norte, Ivisan. He did not resist arrest.
Police spotted a caliber .45 pistol clutched to the waist of Aguel who was then drinking beer in a restaurant in the town.
When asked to prove the legality of his gun, Aguel presented a firearm’s license that expired on July 24, 2009.
Police seized the firearm along with its magazine containing six live ammunitions.
Aguel was detained in the Ivisan police station. He is facing charges for illegal possession of firearm.
