Teacher stabbed inside car

ROXAS City — A teacher at the Capiz State University was stabbed in Brgy. Tanza, Panay town on Sunday afternoon. He died.

Insp. Bryan Fallera, Panay police chief, identified the victim as 45-year-old Roque Diaz.

Diaz, a resident of Brgy. Bailan, Pontevedra, was inside his car near a rice field when attacked, police said.
He succumbed to nine stab wounds on his body.

Police said the victim asked his rescuers to bring him to the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital, but he died a few hours later.

Authorities are yet to establish why the victim was stuck near a rice field in Panay.

It was learned that Diaz was a younger brother of former Sangguniang Bayan member Joel Diaz of Maayon.

His body now lies in state at the Joel Funeral Home in Brgy. Lawaan here.

Investigation on the case is ongoing.
