ROXAS City — Sangguniang Panlalawigan member Ma. Emilie Ardivilla was the first mid-term elections candidate in Capiz to file her certificate of candidacy (COC) at the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
Accompanied by supporters clad in red shirts, Ardivilla filed her COC at 8:30 a.m. on Monday.
But due to lack of several required documents, Wil Arceno, provincial election supervisor, did not accept her COC.
Ardivilla, who is seeking reelection, will run as an independent candidate.
She is the wife of former Provincial Board member Gilbert Ardivilla.
The latter is reportedly running for Board member, too, under Ugyon Kita Capiz (UKC).
Ardivilla first ran and won in the 2010 elections under UKC.
Zenon Amoroso of Panitan town also filed his COC on Monday. He will run for congressman in the 1st District.
In 2010, Amoroso ran for governor against Tanco.
But the Comelec declared him a nuisance candidate after Tanco filed a petition against him.
Engr. Isagani Acat of Brgy. Culasi here also filed his COC on Monday afternoon. He is running for city vice mayor.
Businessman Rogelio “Nonoy” Buaron also filed his COC for Sangguniang Bayan member of Panay.
