ROXAS City — Vice Mayor Weldie Apolinario Jr. of Maayon town used a government vehicle when he went to a KTV bar on Friday evening here.
The vice mayor himself admitted this.
But Apolinario said he did not intend to enter Ems KTV Bar in Brgy. 3 here.
He said he only granted the invitation of some Maayon barangay captains who were binge-drinking in the bar at the time.
The village chiefs invited him via text message, he said.
Apolinario said he was with his wife, a doctor, in this city to see a patient. And they were using a government vehicle.
The vice mayor apologized and vowed not to use the government vehicle for personal trips anymore.
Apolinario is one of the three incumbent officials under the Liberal Party seeking reelection in next year’s mid-term elections.
Others are Vice Gov. Esteban Evan “Nonoy” Contreras and Mayor Leslie Warren “Biboy” Benjamin of Dumarao. All three are running unopposed.
