ILOILO – One of the suspects in the killing of Vice Mayor Abel Martinez of Mambusao, Capiz on May 4, 2012 has also been linked to a slay plot against this paper’s editor-in-chief, Danny G. Fajardo.
Roger “Ian” Loredo is now detained at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Brgy. Nanga, Pototan town.
The 33-year-old Loredo is a resident of Brgy. Dalid, Calinog town.
In his affidavit dated December 20, 2012, Loredo identified other suspects in the killing of Martinez – Gilbie Principe and a certain Sonny and Buddy.
Principe was killed by his own grenade on October 13, 2012 in Brgy. Fatima, Jaro, Iloilo City while being pursued by policemen after he fled a checkpoint.
Loredo and Principe have been identified by Panay News security guard Victor Sabordo as two of the three men who insisted on entering Panay News’ compound in Brgy. Maliao, Pavia, Iloilo on October 5, 2012 around 5 p.m. and demanded to see Fajardo.
Before going to Panay News’ Pavia compound, the two and another companion checked Fajardo’s presence in Panay News’ compound in Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
In Pavia, the three suspects were caught by Panay News’ security camera.
Sabordo went to the BJMP in Brgy. Nanga, Pototan yesterday and identified Loredo as one of the three men.
