BY FELIPE CELINO

ROXAS City — The body of the Capiceño overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who died in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia last year was sent home yesterday. The remains of Danilo Diaz-Quiatchon arrived at the Roxas City Airport via a commercial flight. Quiatchon was 48.

They were taken first to the Joel Funeral Home in Brgy. Lawaan here before they were sent to Brgy. Poblacion Ilaya in Maayon, his hometown. Quiatchon’s body arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Sunday morning. Quiatchon’s wife, Annaliza, said her husband died in a car accident on October 20, 2012. She had no idea about the details, as she was only told by her husband’s coworkers about his death. Quiatchon has worked in Saudi Arabia for about nine years.

Annaliza thanked the Department of Foreign Affairs for facilitating the return of her husband’s remains. Interment will be at the Maayon cemetery tomorrow, 9 a.m. The couple resides in Brgy. Esperanza, Pontevedra.
