Stolen motorcycle found

BY FELIPE CELINO

ROXAS City — A motorcycle owned by a Police Regional Office 6 personnel was reported stolen in front of a private hospital but was later found in front of a hotel in this city. Insp. Marvin Balmes, 33, was dismayed when his motorcycle went missing just after he brought his wife, who was about to give birth, to the Capiz Doctors’ Hospital on Fuentes Drive.

A few hours later, however, Balmes’ motorcycle (plate number: 773-FI) was recovered in front of the Lawaan Garden Hotel in Brgy. Lawaan. Police believed that the thieves abandoned the vehicle because it lacked gasoline. Several motorcycles in this city have been reported stolen recently, making the authorities believe that a syndicate was behind the incidents. Some of these motorcycles were recovered hours or days after they went missing. Some thieves were also arrested.

Police are now tracking down the suspects. In another story, villagers have found an apple-type hand grenade in Brgy. Manoling, President Roxas on Friday. City policemen informed the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) about the discovery. The CPPO then asked Insp. Ramil Intereso, bomb expert and chief of the Sapian police, to defuse the hand grenade.
