ROXAS City — A Philippine Army personnel was killed when two motorcycles collided in Brgy. Caidquid, Mambusao town.
PO3 Thomas Obligar of the Mambusao police station identified the fatality as Master Sergeant Charlie Quicoy, 52.
Quicoy was rushed to the Mambusao District Hospital but died upon arrival, police said.
Two others were seriously injured in the Sunday noon accident — Private First Class Allan Alarba, 34, of Brgy. San Andres, San Rafael, Iloilo, and retired soldier Beltran Solmayor of Mambusao.
Both were members of the Philippine Army’s 3rd Infantry Division based in Brgy. Jaena Norte, Jamindan.
They were taken to the Mambusao District Hospital but were transferred to separate hospitals in Iloilo City due to the seriousness of their injuries.
Quicoy was driving a Honda XRM, onboard which was Alarba, which accidentally crashed head-on to the motorcycle driven by Solmayor, investigation showed.
In the morning, a motorcycle crashed into a kilometer post of the Department of Public Works and Highways in Sitio Sayuyan, Brgy. Malocloc Norte, Ivisan.
John Rex Mendoza, 23, who works in a bottled drink company, sustained injuries in the different parts of his body, said PO2 Alex Amoroso of the Ivisan police station.
He was confined in the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital.
