ROXAS City — A man died after the motorcycle he was driving accidently hit a cargo truck parked along the highway in Brgy. Bailan, Pontevedra town.
Gerry dela Cruz, 46, was traversing the road from Panitan when he met the accident. He was taken to the Bailan District Hospital but died upon arrival.
It was learned that dela Cruz was driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and was not wearing a helmet.
A similar accident occurred in Brgy. Pangabuan, Jamindan — this time, a motorcycle accidentally collided into a passenger jeepney.
The motorcycle driver, Robert Gardose, 19, of Sitio Bag-ang, Brgy. Tumalalud, Mambusao, was in critical condition. He sustained an injured head and a fractured right arm.
His back-rider, Sugarila Llamares, 15, had a fractured leg.
Gardose was driving under the influence of alcohol and later lost control of his motorcycle, police investigation disclosed.
The jeepney driver, Nelson Vipinosa of Brgy. Pangabuan, Jamindan, voluntarily surrendered to the police.
In Ivisan, a 55-year-old woman and two others were injured when a motorcycle sideswiped them.
Milagrosa Olisco, Roberto Olisco, 15, and Nickson Ulam, all of Brgy. Iliya, Ivisan, were brought to the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital.
The motorcycle driver, Charlie Hilaga of Brgy. Malonoy, Dumarao, was taken to the Ivisan police station.
