Querol inspects SAF in Dao town

ROXAS City — Director Cipriano Querol Jr., Philippine National Police Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) chief, visited Dao town recently to inspect the operational readiness and the facilities of the SAF based in Brgy. Manhoy. SAF troops from General Santos City were deployed to Capiz last month to help in the anti-insurgency drive. Querol reminded the SAF and the Capiz police that the Capiz Police Provincial Office has the primary responsibility over all peacekeeping initiatives in the province.

All peacekeeping activities must also be coordinated with the Joint Peace and Security Coordinating Center (JPSCC), he said. The JPSCC was created in January 21, 2010 through Armed Forces of the Philippines-PNP Joint Letter Directive 07-2010 to strengthen the campaign against insurgency. During his visit, Querol, a former Capiz police director, was oriented on the peace and order situation in the province. Senior Supt. Domingo Cabillan, Capiz police director, thanked Querol for supporting the Capiz police.

With the SAF troopers, police forces in the different towns are stronger. The local police can now maximize visibility and checkpoints in their respective areas of responsibility, Cabillan said. Supt. Mario Baquiran, 6th SAF battalion commander, and chiefs of police in the towns and this city, were present during Querol’s visit.
